random people was founded in 2007 as a platform for a diversity of collaborative activities in the research and practice of performance. Collaboration for us is not only a mode of production, but always also an enquiry: How can we devise a structure that both invites and contains various individual responses to a task or theme? We believe that finding other ways of working together is one of the few directly political elements of artistic production. In our latest projects, we have increasingly aimed to allow different modes of involvement in the production and reception of a work, both for audiences as well as for different artistic positions.

Some aspects that we regularly explore in our work are: questions of travel, tourism, walking; the relation between work, life and art; performance history and questions of documentation ...

The work can take different forms: instruction pieces, durational performances, devised performances, lecture performances, workshops, installations, photography ...
